These terms govern your use of imco.design. By browsing the site, downloading a CV, or sending us a message, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

IMCO is an independent product engineering and design studio founded by Chris Javier Oliveros, with Jake Chico as co-founder. It trades as IMCO Software Development Services, a sole proprietorship registered in the Philippines under DTI No. 1999189, and works remotely. In these terms, “IMCO”, “we”, and “us” mean the studio and the people who publish under it.

What this site is

This site is a professional platform. It presents the studio’s capabilities, case studies, writing, and the profiles and CVs of its members.

It is a description of work, not an offer. Browsing the site, reading a case study, or downloading a CV does not create a contract, an engagement, an employment relationship, or a professional advisory relationship of any kind.

Using the site

You may read, link to, quote, and share what we publish here. You may not:

• copy the site’s content, design, or code in bulk, or republish it as your own;
• scrape or automatically harvest the site, including the personal information in team profiles and CVs, for recruitment databases, marketing lists, resale, or the training of machine learning models;
• interfere with the site’s operation, security, or availability, or try to reach it other than through its published interface;
• represent yourself as a member of, or as speaking for, IMCO;
• use anything published here in a way that is unlawful, misleading, or defamatory.

If you want to do something the list above rules out, ask. We are usually willing.

Intellectual property

The writing, design system, code, diagrams, photography, and brand marks on this site belong to IMCO or to the individual members who created them, except where stated otherwise.

Client names, logos, product screenshots, and project material shown in case studies remain the property of their respective owners and appear here with permission or within the limits agreed with them. Nothing on this site transfers any right to that material.

Quoting our writing. You may quote a reasonable extract from an article for commentary, teaching, or review, with attribution to the named author and a link to the original. Reproducing a whole article, or presenting our writing as your own or as machine-generated, is not permitted.

Ownership of anything produced during a paid engagement is defined by the agreement for that engagement, not by this page.

Case studies and confidentiality

Case studies are written within the confidentiality obligations owed to the clients and employers involved. Some detail is deliberately withheld, and some projects are described without naming the organisation.

Nothing published here should be read as authorising further disclosure of a client’s confidential information, or as a statement made on a client’s behalf. Outcomes described are those observed in the specific context of that project and are not a promise of the same result elsewhere.

Profiles and CVs

Each member of IMCO is responsible for the accuracy of their own profile and CV, and each is published with that person’s approval.

CVs are made available so that hiring managers, recruiters, and collaborators can evaluate professional suitability. They are personal information and remain so after download. You may not:

• alter a CV, or present its contents out of context;
• forward or submit a CV to a third party — including a client, a job board, or another agency — without that person’s written consent;
• add a person’s details to a database, mailing list, or candidate pool without their consent.

Any of us can ask you to delete a copy of our CV and the personal information it contains, and we expect that request to be honoured. See the Privacy Policy for how we handle information in the other direction.

Writing is not professional advice

Articles and case studies describe how we approached particular problems under particular constraints. They are professional opinion, not consulting advice for your situation, and they may go out of date. Apply your own judgment, and your own testing, before acting on anything you read here.

Contacting us

When you send an inquiry, you confirm that you are entitled to share what you send and that it is accurate. Please do not send confidential material before we have agreed how it will be handled — an unsolicited message does not create a confidentiality obligation on our side.

Sending an inquiry does not oblige us to reply, to quote, or to take on work. We decline work that falls outside what we can deliver responsibly.

Engagements

Any actual work is governed by a separate written agreement between you and IMCO, covering scope, deliverables, timelines, fees, ownership, confidentiality, warranties, and how the engagement ends. Where that agreement and this page differ, the agreement governs.

IMCO is a remote studio and works remotely by default. We have no offices, and we do not offer on-site or in-person delivery unless an agreement says so explicitly.

Links to other sites

The site links to client work, professional networks, articles, and tools we do not control. We link because the destination is useful, not because we endorse everything it contains, and we are not responsible for its content, security, or privacy practices.

Availability and changes

We may change, move, or remove any part of this site at any time, including content that is currently published. We do not guarantee that the site will be available without interruption or free of errors, and we may take it offline for maintenance without notice.

Disclaimer

The site and its contents are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, IMCO and its members are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, or for any loss of profit, revenue, data, business, or goodwill, arising from your use of — or inability to use — this site or anything published on it.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Your responsibility

If your use of the site breaks these terms and causes a claim against us, you agree to cover the reasonable costs and losses that result from it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, and the courts of the Philippines have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them. If you are a consumer in another country, this does not remove protections you have under the mandatory laws of the country you live in.

Changes to these terms

We update this page when the way we work changes. The date at the top is the last meaningful revision, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the current version.
